PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGISTS

(Currently unavailable)

All provisional psychologists are registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, which ensures that they have met the high standards in education, supervised training, ethical conduct and clinical experience.

A provisional psychologist is someone who has completed at least five years of training, including clinical placements and research, and is now completing one year of supervised practice. Supervised practice means that provisional psychologists are able to discuss assessments and treatments with a senior peer in the field of psychology.

Psychologists with provisional registration will deliver therapy to clients in the same manner as any other registered psychologist, so you can feel assured that you are receiving appropriate care. Following this one year of supervised practice, provisional psychologists will gain their general registration.

Format: Face-to-face, via Telehealth, or via Phone Consultation (confirm when booking)

Cost: $40 per 50-minute session

Referral: Provisional psychologists are not yet eligible for Medicare rebates, which is why we charge a lower rate for them. This means that you do not require a mental health care plan in order to see them, with the added benefit that you are not restricted/limited to ten sessions.

EDUCATIONAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL ASSESSMENTS

Fees differ according to the type of assessment required. Please contact us for a quote. Please note, Medicare does not cover the cost of such assessments, that is, Medicare rebates do not apply. Private Health Fund rebates may apply (you will need to check with your health care fund).

Please note: The Practice is not a Bulk Bill practice. Your GP will be able to advise you of available no-cost options in your area.
