About Me
I have experience working with clients in public mental health settings and private practice. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults. My clinical experience includes, but is not limited to, working with anxiety disorders, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, and Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders.I currently work in private practice but continue to work in collaboration with public health organisations to provide support to clients referred through these organisations. I work with adults presenting with a broad range of difficulties. Alongside the general work I do, I enjoy working with couples and families. I appreciate having the opportunity to help clients improve their mental health and live a valued everyday life.
How will I help you
I will provide a welcoming, supportive and comfortable space for you to attend to mental health concerns that bring you to therapy. The early sessions of therapy, the assessment period, will be dedicated to gaining an understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing, as well as identifying what you might like to gain from attending therapy. A treatment plan will then be developed in line with the insight we gain from this assessment and your goals. My approach to treatment is a practical one—I will work with you to help you gain insight into your current difficulties, to identify and apply skills and strategies you may already have that are useful, and to develop additional skills and strategies that may lead to an improvement in your mental health and well-being, enabling you to live a more fulfilling and satisfying life.Treatment Focus:
